Tips for students
Please state your preferred area of work in your letter of application and write why you would like to undertake your internship / write your final thesis with TÜV NORD or why you would like to work with us as a "student trainee". Please always state your preferred area of work, the region/town where you would like to be based and the date when you could start work. Prepare carefully for the interview with us.
Interships
- Try to undertake several internships during your studies in order to get to know as many companies, sectors, professions and activities as possible.
- Look for an internship which fits with the profession you want to take up later.Internships of less than four weeks are too short to really learn and work independently. Ideally they should last between 2 and 3 months.
Final thesis (Diploma, Bachelor, Master, Doctorate)
- The final thesis is an examination set and assessed by the university. First, look for a mentor for your final thesis at your university.
- Apply at TÜV NORD with a specific proposal for a theme. Of course we are particularly pleased to consider current themes of industrial interest.
If you have already undertaken an internship at TÜV NORD or if you have been a student trainee, you can take advice on the choice of theme during this time.
- Use your contacts! Does a professor at your university have contacts at TÜV NORD?
He or she can help you find a suitable theme. - Maintain close contact with both your university mentor and with your mentor at TÜV NORD.
Tips for apprenticeships
- Please state your desired apprenticeship in your application letter and tell us why you would like to undertake your apprenticeship with TÜV NORD.
- Prepare yourself carefully for your interview with us. Think about

- why you want to undertake this particular apprenticeship
Tips for those still at school
- Try to find a placement that suits your future trade or profession
- Send us your application, saying why you want to have a placement at TÜV NORD. Please use the online application form in the Job exchange under "Apply online"
- State when and where (town/region) you can/wish to start
- Prepare yourself carefully for your interview with us.
