Certified Catering
Better processes, better products
Good food is not only a matter of taste. All organisations who provide meals for their workforce or for the public can now have their food and the associated processes certified by TÜV NORD CERT according to neutral criteria, where good results earn the "Certified Catering" test mark. As well as image enhancement, certified organisations profit from an additional element in their internal quality assurance which is both useful and objective.
Evaluation according to objective criteria
Certification is useful for all organisations concerned with catering for the public, such as restaurant chains (including so-called "system" chains with a limited and standardised offering), canteens and also large-scale kitchens - for example in hospitals or residential homes for the elderly. Currently there are a large number of internal quality schemes run by the individual organisations. "Certified Catering" from TÜV NORD CERT, on the other hand, is based on standardised criteria which allow an objective assessment.
Customer focus and process optimisation
The objectives of the certification include ensuring adherence to legal requirements and applicable standards, achievement of optimum customer focus and continuous improvement of the products and processes in the respective organisations. Those who complete the audit successfully receive recognised confirmation of their performance in the form of the "Certified Catering" mark. This can be used in communications with clients and in various forms of marketing, and helps certified organisations to stand out from the competition. In addition, the audit gives rise to various suggestions regarding potentials for improvement, leading to more efficient internal processes, optimised customer focus and, in the end, improved service and better food on the table.
Additional module for highest level of excellence
The basic requirements for certification concern management procedures, processes for product and process reliability and also operational processes - from incoming goods up to the actual serving of the food. Supporting activities, such as maintenance, waste disposal and processes aimed at improvement are also covered. In addition, TÜV NORD CERT offers the advanced "Product and process analysis" module, leading to the highest level of certification.
