DIN EN 13241-1 - Complying with requirements, ensuring safety
The European standard DIN EN 13241-1 summarises all European individual standards for gates. It describes safety and performance requirements for all power-operated and manually operated gates used for commercial and private purposes.
Do you manufacture gates within the scope of DIN EN 13241-1, or do you trade in them or import them?
If so, you are obliged to comply with certain requirements.
You must:
- perform internal production controls for your facilities,
- document the test results,
- record proof of the gate's sufficient mechanical strength (statics),
- record proof of the adequate breaking strength of transparent materials (test in accordance with EN 12600).
We support you in obtaining CE marking and offer you testing and confirmation of the following properties:
- Watertightness
- Release of hazardous substances (after appearance of the relevant standard)
- Wind load resistance
- Thermal resistance
- Air permeability
- Safe opening
If all requirements are met the gate can be awarded the CE mark.
