International Food Standard
Trade requires certification
German retailers developed the International Food Standard in 2002. Today, it is known to 65% of the global foodstuff industry. The IFS is the most important standard for suppliers of large retail chains in Western Europe with the exception of Great Britain.
We are accredited in accordance with DIN EN 45011 for IFS certifications.
In the last few years, the proportion of independent brands that are produced on behalf of retailers and large retail chains has increased. This trend will continue in the future. As a company that sells foodstuffs, the same safety and quality requirements apply to you as to all other food producers. To satisfy these standards, i.e. to guarantee consistent, comparable and safe quality for food, many producers of independent brands are now demanding a certification in accordance with the International Food Standard.
TÜV NORD CERT is approved by the German business development association for retail (Wirtschaftlicher Förderdienst des Einzelhandel - WFE) and accredited by the German Accreditation System for Testing (Deutsche Akkreditierungssystem Prüfwesen - DAP) for certifying food suppliers.
