The function of the transitional company is the placement of employees who are threatened with unemployment. Tools such as further education measures are available to the transitional companies for this purpose. As a certified educational institution, TÜV NORD provides you with qualification measures, which you can select for your further career path. These continuing education courses can be financed by the company that let you go or by foundations in close cooperation with the labour administration using means from the European social fund.

Structure and function of the transitional company

A transitional company is formed by founding a company under an agreement between the employee and the employer's representative and reporting it to the responsible agency as per § 2 Abs. 3 SGB III. Part of such an agreement is usually a special rule in the social plan or an agreed upon transitional social plan, which makes concrete placement and qualification offers to the employees.
Employees in a transitional company receive transitional short-time employment compensation, which is limited to twelve months and does not affect the duration of unemployment compensation I. The transitional short-time unemployment compensation is applied for by the transitional company within the framework of setting up a transitional company with the responsible employment agency and can be increased by the company to up to 100 % of the previous amounts.
