Landfills
A landfill is a regional waste emplacement that was established for the long-term. Therefore, landfill sites must comply with specific operational, organisational, and technical requirements. Apart from that, there are also requirements set forth for the waste.
Landfill gas is created though the anaerobic fermentation of organic material. This gas escapes the landfill body and can result in an concentration or enrichment of pollutant and unpleasant odours, if no adequate technical measures are taken to dissipate, decontaminate, or recycle them. The emmissions discharged by landfills may not exceed specific limits, and the operator has measurement and monitoring obligations, some of which must be conducted by experts, for the entire duration of the landfill's operational phase.
Which services do we offer?
- We analyse landfill gas.
- We conduct FID inspections for determining and assessing diffuse emissions, in particular of methane across the landfill area.
Which standards and statutory regulations form the foundation of our working base?
The Closed Substance Cycle and Waste Management Act (KrW-/AbfG §36 c) serves as the foundation for our activities.
