Building applications and licensing procedures frequently require that noise immission produced by an installation be determined and assessed before construction begins.
The noise immission is mathematically calculated using a corresponding model. The noise immission is defined according to manufacturer specifications, literature, and empirical values. In individual cases, measurements on comparable installations can be used.
The noise immission is then determined using recognised sound propagation programmes. The specifications of the technical instructions on noise and the regulations specified therein are incorporated in these programmes.
