Compliance Audits
The standard agrees.
A high level of safety is a core element of overall airport operations. To achieve this, various international, European and national regulations and technical standards must be complied with. The compliance of companies that operate at airports often plays an underestimated role in this.
TÜV NORD Aviation checks companies and organizations that operate in their airport for compliance with the applicable external and internal specifications on the basis of interdisciplinary expert knowldege and detailed checklists. These checks can typically relate to the fields of Aviation Security or Aerodrome Safety Management. In addition, other topics such as environmental protection and special internal standards can be subject to an independent check in the form of a compliance audit. Thus, the independent check of third parties who operate at the airport, such as ground transportation services, for their compliance with the standards, contributes to the overall high level of operational safety.
The airport as a candidate for an audit
We also check entire airports within the scope of an ICAO Annex 14 Compliance Audit for compliance to applicable specifications. The focus of these checks is on the infrastructure and the operational measures. These checks culminate in immediate handling and safety recommendations. In the event of incompatibility with ICAO standards, this can lead to more in-depth safety assessments or aeronautical studies.
These independent audits and verifications provide a useful supplement to aviation and safety officials in their aviation supervision activities.
