EC conformity of railway systems
TÜV NORD offers you conformity assessments with construction testing certificates, assessments of quality and safety management and usability tests in line with TSI.
Furthermore, we are an associated partner of the only notified Eisenbahn-Cert (EBC) body in Germany, and perform EC conformity tests together with this body. In cooperation with the notified bodies of European countries, will will also help you with issues of cross-border registrations.
European railways are growing together.
The European Union guidelines for the area of railways are connected with great challenges. An increasing number of guidelines are consolidated here, incorporating all structural and functional subsystems of a railway system.
The technical specifications for each subsystem have already been designed for interoperability (TSI). Certificates can also be obtained to confirm conformity with relevant European specifications. This conformity is the basis for launching interoperability components on the market throughout Europe and without discrimination, or for requesting commissioning of subsystems. Thus, European railway guidelines together with the corresponding TSI form the basis for Europe-wide licensing.
However, the European context also includes special requirements, such as inspections of pressure vessels for hazardous materials in line with Directive 1999/36/EC, or the requirements for individual European registration authorities developed in the context of cross-acceptance.
