EC conformity
EC test in line with TSI Noise
Low-noise railway – now more than just a buzzword. For 15 years now, railway companies and politicians have been waiting for a competitive advantage in low-noise railways. A low-noise railway is expected to tip the balance in favor of rail by increasing the noise-stressed public's acceptance of rail solutions. The result will be higher numbers of people and freight moving by rail.
After a long phase of technical innovations, which were only implemented to a limited extent, making the reduction of railway noise barely perceivable, politicians have now acted. With the Technical Specification for Interoperability for Noise, or TSI Noise for short, they have created the obligatory basis for effectively reducing the noise from railways.
With TSI Noise, limits have been established since February 2007 for the noise emitted by railway vehicles. These requirements are placing new challenges at the feet of the manufacturers of railway vehicles, because, on the one hand, vehicles must be developed that adhere to or are markedly less than the required limits. On the other hand, the corresponding certificates must be provided by means of measuring within the scope of the EC test.
TÜV NORD has many years of experience in the field of noise protection and is a recognized center (CE 0044) for outdoor noise.
Our accoustic engineers will provide you with consultation in the acoustic layout or optimization of your railway vehicles or they will carry out the noise measurements for the acceptance inspection of your vehicles as per TSI Noise within the scope of the EC testing process.
We are associated partners of the recognized German center for Interoperability of railway cert.
Let your name be heard for being heard less.
