Fire protection and evacuation
Fire protection documents
For railway technology, a particular type of building is generally used, or buildings are designated for special use. These special buildings need fire protection concepts that are implemented expertly by architects, specialist planners and the executing companies.
Experience has shown that this gives rise to many questions, because individual relationships within the fire protection concept have not been recognised immediately, or details have not been described sufficiently.
The planning and implementation of individual construction measures, as well as the plant-specific equipping of buildings, is frequently subject to errors that incur high costs when remedied subsequently, and can delay construction progress considerably.
In order to familiarise all concerned with the most important information, it is sensible to provide a graphical representation, as well as the written fire protection concept, that contains the most important constructional, plant-specific and organisational fire protection requirements.
Before a building is used, it is advisable to draw up the following important documents for operational fire protection:
- Fire brigade plans in line with DIN 14095
- Fire protection ordinances in line with DIN 14096
- Escape and rescue plans
