Safety management systems in accordance with the Railway Safety Directive 2004/49/EC
Introducing a safety management system prevents disturbances within the operational procedures and hence contributes towards your company's economic success. Furthermore, introducing a safety management system fulfils the requirements of the Directive 2004/49/EC and hence a prerequisites for the issue of a safety certificate by the Federal Railway Authority.
Improving the safety level within a company can only be achieved by implementing
- a safety-oriented structural organisation and
- a safety-oriented procedural organisation.
These are the focus of our activities. We offer support in setting up and implementing a safety management system with which you will achieve the desired improvement and simultaneously fulfil the requirements of the Railway Safety Directive 2004/49/EC. With this, you will fulfil one of the prerequisites for the issue of a safety certificate by the Federal Railway Authority.
Introducing a safety management system within your company allows you to define the tasks and responsibilities for your staff all the way to the management level and hence avoid task and competence overlaps.
The safety management system outlines processes and procedures that describe how each employee can successfully execute procedures and activities in a safety-focused manner.
The processes, and the system itself, implemented with the safety management system are subject to a continual improvement process through which it can be adapted to the "living" company.
The Safety Management & Reliability Analyses Group at TÜV NORD EnSys Hannover GmbH & Co. KG will support you in developing the organisational and operational regulations of the safety management system, taking the Directive 2004/49/ec into account. Contact us, we will gladly provide support.
