TÜV NORD Savings tip particualte filter
These super cleaners save money and frustration
Help your Diesel quit smoking. Your reward will be in the form of tax breaks and the ability to drive in environmental zones.
And the environment will also be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
Particulate filters pay for themselves
- You can continue to drive in environmental zones
- You will increase the resale value of your vehicle
- You will get a vehicle tax bonus
- You will avoid the vehicle tax increase
- You will make an important contribution to health and environmental protection
More and more cities are banning the smoke from Diesel engines
Anyone who wants to remain on the road with his Diesel vehicle should have a particulate filter installed. More and more communities are setting up environmental zones aimed at improving air quality. Only vehicles with particulate filters receive a sticker, which allows them to drive in these zones. If they drive without these stickers, they will be fined and possibly get points deducted from their licenses in Flensburg.
Retrofitting pays for itself
Particulate filters are not cheap. A quick installation will cost you 600 euros plus 50 euros for labour. But, if it will increase the value of your vehicle by a few thousand dollars, then the investment will pay off. The government is promoting them by granting a 330 euro tax break after the retrofit. Condition: The car was first approved prior to January 2007 and will be retrofitted by December 31, 2009. It will then remain exempt from the vehicle tax until this amount is used up.
At the same time, you will be preserving the resale value of your car. In areas with environmental zones, Diesel vehicles without particulate filters can only be sold for well under their actual value.
For vehicles that are more than 5 years old or have driven more than 80,000 km at the time of the conversion, the catalytic converter must also be replaced. For passenger cars that have not been converted or for new vehicles that are not Euro-5 compliant, the vehicle owners must also pay a penalty tax of 1.20 euros per 100 cm³.
