Technical motorcycle inspection - Quality you can trust
As a German saying goes: "My motorbike is due for its TÜV inspection." The law says: "All vehicles with a registration plate ... must periodically be tested for adherence to traffic safety regulations." And the clever mind underneath the helmet says: "Only if my motorbike is safe can I rev it up without worrying." What's meant is one and the same thing: the general inspection

Only officially recognized experts, testers, or engineers may perform the general inspection. Trust the competence and experience of TÜV NORD Mobility. Make an appointment with your TÜV STATION - preferably right away. Our tip: Many items on our inspection form can be checked by you in advance.
Our independent experts check the following:
- Rear view mirror
- Protection against unauthorized usage: Steering wheel lock, for instance
- Fire resistance - number plates
- Steering mechanism, e.g. steering head bearings, steering stops
- Frame condition
- Drive, engine, gearbox, coupling and exhaust system
- Electrical system, headlight settings, signalling units and noise suppression
- Seats and footrests
- Wheel covers
- Rear wheel rocker
- Brakes
- Power transmission
- Tyres, wheels, minimum tread depth (1.6 mm), wheel bearing play, tyre designations
- Parking mechanisms, e.g. side stands or centre stands
The following items are examined during the test run:
- Speedometer
- Steering
- Brakes
- Engine power
- Suspension / shock absorbers
- Driving noises
- Tracking
- Projecting edges

Our experts explain in detail the results of the inspection and discuss with you the risks and dangers.
You will also receive a written inspection report. Please keep this until the next general inspection.
What to do if a re-inspection is necessary?
Please bring your vehicle for re-inspection within one month. Otherwise, the testers will have to perform a full inspection all over again. Please correct even minor defects before re-inspection. Only then can we issue a new vehicle inspection sticker!
Can I postpone the date for the general inspection?
It's a matter of safety. You should always come on time to the general inspection. You can determine the next date from the round vehicle inspection sticker on the rear license plate. You will not gain any time by missing the deadline because our testers must backdate the sticker for the next general inspection.
