Technical inspection periods for vehicles with seasonal licence plates
TÜV NORD vehicle inspection: nothing is more relaxing
Is the date for your next vehicle inspectionin your holiday calendar?
Mobile homes with a overall weight of 3.5 tons require their first vehicle inspection three years after initial registration. Then they require a vehicle inspection every two years. From year seven after the initial registration, they require a vehicle inspection every year.
Scheduling pressure for your holiday
You will be more relaxed about going on holiday if your mobile home or caravan is safe and reliable. Always have the vehicle inspection carried out in time. The corresponding date is on the sticker on the rear license plate and in the registration document. You won't save time if you miss the vehicle inspection appointment because it coincides with holiday plans. Our inspectors have to back-date the inspection in accordance with the road traffic licensing regulations, so that the sticker "period" is correspondingly shortened.
Exception for seasonal license plates
For vehicles with seasonal license plates, the period is indicated on the license plate. For these vehicles, the following deviates from the above-mentioned rule: If the vehicle inspection date is outside the main usage period, the vehicle must have its vehicle inspection in the first month of the following usage period.
An example speaks a 1000 words
Your mobile home requires the vehicle inspection in January. But you have seasonal license plates for March to October. Correspondingly, you don't have to visit your TÜV STATION until March. The deadline for conducting the next vehicle inspection is set again from March. From this date onwards, you will always have to have the vehicle inspection carried out in March. This also applies to emissions inspections and safety inspections.
